Choosing a Christmas look for your walls


Red and green is the classic pairing, and it works best in a room with a lot of wood or brass, such as a dining room or hallway. Silver and gold textures feel calmer and suit a living room that already has a tree and lights. If you want something that still looks right after the holidays, pick a winter woodland print or a plain metallic and let the decorations do the Christmas part.

Yes, if you choose the right look. Silver and gold textures and woodland prints work in any month. Santa and reindeer prints are the ones to keep for a guest room or a hallway you redecorate each year.

Which rooms suit Christmas wallpaper best?

A dining room, hallway or powder room is the easiest place to go bold, because you see the walls for a short time. A living room or bedroom does better with a quieter red, green or metallic.

Is Christmas wallpaper hard to remove after the holidays?
